Jeong Maru Bakery sells baked goods made with heart and loves with the intent to give our customers the feeling of connection and warmth, but most of all, sonmat. Sonmat (손맛) is a Korean word that directly translates to “hand taste.” It is used to convey the effort and love that the baker has put into their food, making it taste even better.

Jeong Maru has a background in faith, specifically Christianity, so in each product packaging, there will be a bible verse that Ellen Kim has hand-picked to hopefully impact one of her customer’s days.

Connection
Ellen Kim began Jeong Maru Bakery after observing the divides in the city of Tucson due to different social and cultural backgrounds, including political differences. She believes that food can act as a bridge between people. One banana bread at a time, she will work to bridge the gaps between different groups in the city.
